Bungie Video Issues
Dear IMG: The interview with Bungie was the biggest let down of IMG since my first issue in January, 1995. Most readers would agree Bungie has created the best gaming products for the Macintosh, and your organization turned it into “America’s Most Moronic Home Videos.” Showing the bloopers in your video may entertain the IMG office staff, but the rest of us are not amused. — Unknown (the name on the fax was obscured)
• People either loved that video or hated it. Either way, uncut goofy videos like this are going to be a thing of the past starting right now. Yes, once in a while those types of videos are fun, but we here at IMG do see the need to get a little more serious.

Soccer Game for the Mac
Dear IMG: I’ve been trying to find a soccer game for the Macintosh. Even on the internet I could not find one. You guys are my last hope, is there a soccer game for the Macintosh in this world?. — Renato Amoroso via Internet
• Yes Renato, there is a Soccer game. Well, actually, not really. Not yet anyway, but MacPlay has plans to have VR Soccer out for the Mac by late fall!

Who are we?
Dear IMG: It might be a neat feature for alternating issues to have a Contributor‘s Page with pictures of your far-flung staff and editors, a blurb, and (yes) even a little sound nugget from each. This way we can attach a voice with the name and face. . — Jeff Estes via Internet
• Depending on how the writers and editors of IMG react to the concept, we might just be coaxed into revealing what we actually look like. But first, I’ll need to get a colored contact lens for this eye in the middle of my forehead.

Escaping Velocity
Dear IMG: Look, I just have to draw everyone’s attention to Ambrosia’s Escape Velocity, has it not already been sucked there like so many unsuspecting dust-mites to the gaping maw of an hoover. I cannot speak highly enough of this game - I’d rate it as the best shareware game of all time, and certainly I’ve played a few ;) The latest version is available from the ambrosia ftp site <ftp.ambrosiasw.com>, in the pub directory :) — Stuart Heath via Internet
• This letter appeared in last month’s issue, and we just wanted to let you know that the non-review of EV to this point was due to a freak set of circumstances and not in any way a reflection of our opinion of the game. It’s a great title.

In Love with Infinity
Dear IMG: I loved the marathon infinity slideshow, especially the picture of the two network players where one is shooting a rocket and the other is running away and holding two shotguns. It is so cool. I printed it out on my color inkjet and I’m going to hang it up by my Mac! Keep up the great work with the magazine!
• Be sure to check out the Marathon Infinity demo on this month’s CD-ROM!

Unmortal Kombat
Dear IMG: I was just wondering if there is/was/will ever be a demo for Mk3 for the Mac, this game has been advertized for quite some time now in many catalogs, but nothing else has been said about it. I realize catalogs start advertizing stuff long before it comes out, but it has been a while... — WilburPB via Internet
• We haven’t seen a demo of Mortal Kombat 3 yet, but as soon as it comes out we’ll put it on the IMG CD-ROM.

Oh My Warlord
Dear IMG: I recently received Warlords II 2.0 (the CD-ROM version), and I’ve been having a blast with the new scenarios. They’re not all suited to the AI (though tempting for multiplayer), and some are silly, but they’re generally much more interesting than the random scenarios.
I’ve already started lusting after the many IBM Warlords II Deluxe scenarios I see floating around the web, but unfortunately I can’t use them yet. SSG apparently used a third party to add a data compaction option to their IBM scenario editor/librarian. This third party does not provide a Mac version of the S/W, so the Mac librarian tool cannot read IBM scenarios that have been compacted. (Note that this is totally separate from using Zip or Stuffit to compress the scenario file after the librarian has produced it).
In theory the Mac librarian tool can read uncompacted IBM scenarios, but I have yet to find any such on the web.
So, I need to find some kindly IBM Warlords II Deluxe owner who is willing to uncompact the various scenarios floating around and make them available to the Mac users. I thought that perhaps IMG might have the connections and the motivation to do something along those lines..... — Robert Walker via Internet
